Safe to use pregnancy, ovulation, and UTI tests after FDA warning

The FDA is warning consumers to not use certain pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, and UTI tests due to a recall.

The good news is, our pregnancy tests, ovulation tests, and UTI tests are all safe and effective, and unaffected by the recall. If you have purchased one of the below products, keep reading. We may be able to help you!

Unfortunately, on August 16, the FDA announced that the following tests may not be safe or effective:

  • HealthyWiser UriTest 10 Parameter Reagent Test Strips for Urinalysis 
  • HealthyWiser UriTest UTI Test Strips 
  • HealthyWiser KetoFast Ketone Test Strips 
  • HealthyWiser pH-Aware pH Test Strips 
  • To Life hCG Pregnancy Urine Test 
  • Am I Pregnant Pregnancy Midstream Test 
  • DeTec hCG Pregnancy Urine Test 
  • PrestiBio Pregnancy Strips
  • PrestiBio Rapid Detection Pregnancy Test Midstream
  • PrestiBio Ovulation Strips
  • PrestiBio Urinalysis Test Strip 10 Parameters
  • PrestiBio Ketone Test Strips
  • PrestiBio Breast Milk Alcohol Test Strips

These tests are manufactured by Universal Meditech Inc. UMI has stopped operations and halted providing support for its tests. The FDA is worried about the quality of the tests and test results. They recommend throwing the tests away and testing with a different test.
